Job Description Reports To: Building Principal/Special Education Supervisor Work Schedule: 7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday Salary: $18.01 starting hourly rate *1:1 Assistants who complete the school year in their assignments are eligible for a stipend in the amount of 10% of actual hours worked. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Must have a minimum of 48 semester hours of secondary education or have passed the PRAXIS PARAPRO exam One or two years related experience working with students with disabilities is preferred Must pass the written test or meet the educational requirements of the "No Child Left Behind Act" Ability to meet the requirements and apply for an Educational Aide Permit with the Ohio Department of Education Ability to work effectively with students, this may include students who display aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively...
