Job Description PITT COUNTY SCHOOLS Position Description Position Title:Special Education Teacher Assistant Reports To: School Administrator. EC Director Supervises: NATURE OF WORK: A Teacher Assistant in the Autism Classroom will assist the teacher in implementing each child's Individual Education Program goals and objectives. Provide (resource, push-in, etc) support to students in the special/general education setting as designated by the Special Education Teacher. Assist with behavioral support, academic needs, and monitor on task behaviors and class participation. Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up centers, conduct learning exercises with small groups of students, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
