Cohannet Academy, located within Taunton State Hospital, is a Joint Commission-Accredited Intensive Residential Treatment Program (IRTP) that specializes in trauma-informed care. It is contracted with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (MA DMH) to offer in-house services and treatment specifically for adolescent biological females ages 13 to 18. Many of the youth served have experienced complex trauma, unstable home environments, previous hospitalizations, and unsuccessful interventions in less intensive settings.
