Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION School Nurse Reports to : Principal and Chief Student Services Officer Purpose: Identifies health disorders and makes decisions which can have serious impact on the well-being of an individual child or the community at large; facilitates the necessary partnership between the school and health professionals in other agencies; works with the pupil personnel services team (social worker, psychologist, counselor) and other school personnel in preventing health problems from becoming reasons for educational or social failure; identifies chronic health problems in school-age children; and helps students learn to cope with health problems that cannot be treated.
