Job Description CITY OF STAUNTON Sanitation Worker The City of Staunton Public Works Department keeps our city shining. The Recycling and Refuse Division is now recruiting for a Sanitation Worker to join its team. Successful candidate has responsibility for collecting recycling and refuse materials from residential homes and business locations. Works four ten-hour days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), with an occasional Saturday shift. Serves as back-up driver for trash and snow removal. Must demonstrate strong character and work ethic, and be physically capable of the following: ride on the back of a refuse truck for extended periods of time, lift 40 pounds on a regular basis, up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods of time, and work in all weather conditions.
