Job Description Position: Band Teacher/Director Reports To: Building Principal Salary Schedule / Grade: Refer to DEA Salary Schedule F.L.S.A Status: Exempt SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the School Principal, plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning, employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students including strategies to meet diverse student needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan a balanced music program. Organize daily class activities so preparation, rehearsal, and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time. Evaluate each pupil's musical growth and performance, assessing each individual's contribution to the performance of the group. Instruct students in the proper care and use of equipment.
