Job Description Job Summary Position is responsible for creating a classroom environment to develop an interest in, and the ability for, creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression appropriate to the students' interests and abilities; and to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art. Essential Duties Teaches courses in art utilizing curriculum designated by Newport News Public Schools and other appropriate learning activities. Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of Newport News Public Schools. Develops lesson plans to include a balanced art program and organizes daily class time so that instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
