Job Description TITLE: LITERACY SUPPORT TEACHER JOB STATUS: FLSA EXEMPT REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL DEPARTMENT: ACADEMICS AND STUDENT LEARNING POSITION SUMMARY: The Literacy Support teacher works with students in Grades K-5 (Elementary), 6-8 (Middle School), 9-12 (High School) who exhibit the need for additional support in order to become skilled readers. This service supplements and reinforces classroom literacy instruction. Student strengths and needs are identified through varied assessments and targeted instruction is designed, planned and implemented to assist each learner in creating attainable measurable goals and provide the resources to reach these goals.
