Job Description Summit Academy, the in-district public day school of the Amherst-Pelham Regional School District has an opening for a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Certified Special Education teacher. The teacher will be primarily responsible for teaching high school, but as the student needs change regularly, may teach middle school as well. Applicants must have their Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Special Education license for the grades 7-12. Summit Academy is a separate day school for students with IEPs. The school provides a small, therapeutic, and highly supervised learning environment to enable students to make effective progress towards their goals. Students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs are educated in a learning community that supports their needs in order to access the curriculum.
