JOB SUMMARY Provides specialized instruction through a continuum of services to address the needs of students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing. Nature of work may include providing and coordinating services for children and families in a variety of daily settings: conferring with parents regarding progress/problems in the acquisition of skills; teaching communication (total, sign, and/or cued), as appropriate. Plans, develops, selects and modifies instructional materials and lessons while considering the language and communication needs of students and their families. Provides support and training to school staff to increase opportunities for students to access, participate in and progress in the general education curriculum.
