Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide clinic assistance to the school community during school hours for the safety and well-being of the students. Reports directly to the Principal. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Conducts emergency care and first aid to students for accidents and illnesses during school hours. Maintains detailed student health records regarding clinic visits, medical difficulties of students, screening results, physical examinations, and immunization records. Ensures that state and local health requirements are met by students and teachers. Is knowledgeable about the contents of the Virginia School Health Guidelines. Makes health appraisals through observation, interview, analysis of health records, and consults with administrators, faculty and parents. Acts as a resource to faculty regarding health education.
