Job Description Overall Purpose The job of Academic Support Specialist is done for the purpose/s of supporting teachers in implementing lessons designed as interventions for targeted students struggling with the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards in reading, writing, and mathematics; working with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that classroom and school climates enhance academic learning and success; providing academic support and remediation for students at risk of failure; and collaborates and supporting teachers and parents to ensure student success and the completion of school.
