Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: The Middle School STEM teacher provides students with a rigorous and relevant Science/Technology/Engineering/Math (STEM) education. The teacher is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her teaching assignment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure students gain skills in problem-solving, communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and creativity; help students focus on solving real world problems and use the design process to "think like an engineer"; Facilitate student learning, use data to plan, organize and set goals; and maintain safe and orderly environment; Responsible for teaching to the South Carolina PLTW Gateway Standards to include various software applications and PLTW's learning management system; Responsible for facilitating career planning opportunities in STEM occupations for students.
