Job Description Job Title: Senior Marine Corps Instructor (SMI) Supervisor: Principal FLSA: Exempt Term of Employment : 240 days Job Summary: Senior Marine Corps Instructors (SMCIs) lead the MCJROTC units in schools, reporting to an area manager. The SMCI is the program leader, taking the role of commanding officer. The SMCI is responsible for ensuring that the program follows the rules, regulations and procedures as prescribed by Marine Corps Service Training Command and the school or school district. Apart from the management responsibilities of the SMCI, both instructors share day-to-day job responsibilities.
