Job Description ESL Teacher Reports to: Principal(s), ESL Lead Teacher, and/or Director of Federal Programs Purpose : To serve English Learners (ELs) as they acquire academic and social English language proficiency in grades K-12. To provide a safe learning environment that supports the English language development and academic success of English Learners. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Act as a liaison between students, school staff, and family. Administer state required assessments. Schedule and deliver instruction that is aligned to needs of the students based on the LIEP matrix. Maintain student data, records, and documentation for each student and update as needed. Job Description Purpose: Under general supervision, provides special education services to students identified as disabled in accordance with state and federal regulations who are following adapted curriculum (extensions to the common core). Work involves developing and implementing the Individual Education Program in classroom settings that are compatible with the student's age and developmental level. The EC teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans, adapting materials and designing activities to assist EC students develop appropriate academic, behavioral, and social skills and to meet their IEP goals.
