Job Description Painter I & II CLASS TITLE PAY GRADE SALARY RANGE PAINTER I L $19.11 - $23.73 PAINTER II N $19.97 - $24.80 GENERAL DESCRIPTION Performs various painting maintenance and finishing work on interior and/or exterior surfaces. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED ? Assists in the coordination of the paint schedule. ? Performs routine and moderately complex maintenance and repairs on interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, and various equipment and facilities. ? Plans and prepares all facets of painting projects, including measuring, cleaning, caulking, masking, scaffolding assembly, spackling, floating mud, mixing, and preparing paints and finishes. ? Removes old paint and finishes from surfaces. Prepares surfaces using sandblaster, sandpaper, wire brushes, steel wool, and/or scraper, and stripping compounds.
