Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: The Special Education Teacher's primary responsibility is to work in partnership with parents, students and general education teachers in accordance with the district's mission and vision, while maintaining compliance with Federal and State regulations, in order to promote student achievement. Provides direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities and work in collaboration with the general education teacher. Assists in the development of Individual Education Programs (IEP). ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares for IEP team meetings and provides case management for assigned students with disabilities. Serves as a member of the IEP team as appropriate. Works cooperatively with school personnel to accomplish the goals and objectives of the School Department. Develops and implements IEP's with measurable goals.
