Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: The ESY School Adjustment Counselor promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by helping build skills in students to manage any social/emotional/situational barriers to learning. The ESY Counselor significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies for the individual student. The ESY Counselor will provide social skills groups to students identified as needing adjustment counseling over the summer due to regression. Groups will focus on middle school students and will be 90 minutes long twice per week for five weeks. Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: The Special Education Teacher's primary responsibility is to work in partnership with parents, students and general education teachers in accordance with the district's mission and vision, while maintaining compliance with Federal and State regulations, in order to promote student achievement. Provides direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities and work in collaboration with the general education teacher. Assists in the development of Individual Education Programs (IEP).
