The successful candidate will provide direct instruction to the students in the class according to their Individualized Educational Program. Applicants for this position must have degree(s) required in major area of study; Maine Department of Education certification with a #282 endorsement; experience related to the instruction of students of similar age and in the subject area(s) to be assigned; demonstrated positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues; and evidence of a strong desire to work with school-age youth. Job Description MSAD 6 is seeking a dynamic Special Education Teacher (Resource 2 days) to join the instructional staff at Steep Falls , for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will regularly meet with students, staff, and parents in regards to pre-referral, referral, assessment, placement, and reintegration of special needs students; coordinate the identification, referral, evaluation, and placement of students into special education programs as required by the IEP process; and provide direct instruction to students according to their IEPs.
