Job Description GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK Translators will support schools in communicating with Spanish speaking families. Translators will be contacted by the administrator in charge of translation services at each school. Every translator will be trained by central office staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Arrange Title I parent-teacher conferences and/or make phone calls regarding educational/behavioral issues and complete necessary forms for clinic, cafeteria, report card comments, etc.; Interpret during Title I meetings and render all messages accurately and to the best of his/her ability, without additions, distortions or omissions; Assist with interpretation for crisis intervention involving Spanish-speaking students and parents in Title I schools; Assist Title I attendance officers to set up attendance conferences and to interpret during those conferences.
