Job Description Course Description: Our step squad is a structured performance program designed to introduce beginner dancers to the art of stepping-a rich, percussive art form rooted in African American culture that utilizes the entire body as an instrument. Students will develop the fundamental mechanics of synchronization, vocal projection, and rhythmic accuracy. The final task of the Project will be a High Energy Step Exhibition, featuring a completely memorized, cohesive routine that demonstrates sharp physical precision and uniform ensemble timing. Preparation & Practice Time: Up to 2 hours per week preparing for Projects Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:25pm-3:25pm Long-term coaching during "Projects": Meet with students Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 hour each day, from September to late May.
