Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: The ESY School Adjustment Counselor promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by helping build skills in students to manage any social/emotional/situational barriers to learning. The ESY Counselor significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies for the individual student. The ESY Counselor will provide social skills groups to students identified as needing adjustment counseling over the summer due to regression.
