Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: Beaufort County School District seeks certified persons to serve as tutors. To provide intensive and extensive tutorial services for identified students to develop successful academic skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides academic assistance to assigned students, either in a group setting or one-on-one, as directed by the classroom teacher. Collaborates with the classroom teacher to assess selected students and develop effective methods of tutorial service delivery. Maintains records on each tutored student, including follow-up and periodic evaluation of progress. Assists students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and helps them develop study skills necessary for academic success. Helps students develop a positive attitude, a high level of motivation and self-confidence in academic work, serves as a role model for students being served.
