1. Assign the crew to perform all yard and ground maintenance and supervise their work2. Ensure the safety of the work crew
3. Assist in performing all yard and ground maintenance
4. Perform basic custodian duties as assigned during inclement weather
5. Supervise the mowing of lawns, planting and care of desirable vegetation and the removal of undesirable

vegetation
6. Supervise the pruning and transplantation of shrubs, plants, trees, and grass
7. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expectedfor this position.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency.

• Valid Texas Driver's License.

• 2+ years' experience in lawn care, gardening and/or nursey type work.

• 1-year supervisory experience.

• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

• Knowledge of appropriate materials and equipment to be used in performing yard and ground maintenance.

• Thorough knowledge of San Antonio area.

• Leadership and communication skills.

• Knowledge of vehicle equipment and functions such as lifts, application of fertilizer, etc., as well as safety procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to utilize communication equipment: radio communication equipment and cellular phone.

Working Conditions Work Environment:

• Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.

• Grounds equipment: striping machine and air paint sprayer tractor and mower, riding and power mower, gas-powered weed trimmer, blower, garden, and hand tools

• Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
