Job Description
Performs a variety of clerical support functions within a campus or department. Enters, compiles and validates data using simple math as needed. Performs clerical production activities and prepares basic correspondence, forms and other documents as needed. May help research and resolve basic operational problems.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Receive incoming calls, answer questions, and serve as a resource on a variety of office processes as
assigned.
2. Communicate with students, teachers, administrators, parents, employees, and others to answer
questions, address complaints, explain information, and coordinate workflow.
3. Coordinate textbook distribution, take inventory, and assist with preparation of instructional materials as
needed
4. Compile, maintains, and prepares official attendance records and transcripts
5. Operate office machinery, including photocopiers, scanners, telephone and voicemail systems, and computers
6. Maintain updated systems for filing, inventory, mailing, and databases
7. Handle incoming and outgoing office correspondence
8. Type, format, proofread, and edit documents from notes or dictation
9. Prepare meeting agendas; attends meetings to take notes and write minutes
10. Manage work schedules, calendars, and appointments
11. Obtain information to respond to requests by reviewing files, documents, and records
12. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expectedfor this position.
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma or GED equivalent or higher (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accredited agency); &
• 2+ years of office experience
• Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirement of the District
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

Working Conditions Work Environment:
• Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
• Frequent exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional exposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
• Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
