Are you passionate about helping students reach their full potential? We are a thriving private practice in Torrance, CA, specializing in personalized, one-on-one academic support for neurodiverse students of all ages and learning profiles. We're looking for dynamic, experienced Academic Coaches who are ready to make a real impact.

Each day brings new opportunities to make a difference! As part of our team, you will coach students to enhance executive functioning, sharpen study habits, improve organizational skills, and address challenges in reading, writing, and math. The academic coach focuses on process over content and uses a blend of evidence-based targeted interventions based on diagnostics to help students reach grade-level benchmarks.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.)
  • Teaching credential or Masters degree is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching, tutoring, or counseling experience
  • Must be comfortable interacting with primary and secondary students
  • Must be knowledgeable in the areas of ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, processing issues and executive functioning challenges
  • The clinic is open Monday-Saturday 2:00 – 9:00. Must be willing to work after school/evenings. Saturday hours are also available
  • A minimum of 10-12 hours is available, with a maximum of 20 per week
  • Must be able to commit to our students schedule for the full school year

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized lesson plans, one-on-one support, instruction, remediation, and intervention customized to each student’s learning style and needs
  • Prior experience using diagnostics to measure metacognitive benchmarks
  • Understanding of neurodiverse profiles of students
  • Weekly reporting of student's progress data
  • Provide Social/Emotional Learning support for all students
  • Manage the weekly session schedules and collaborate with management to ensure the continuity of session appointments
  • Establish and maintain frequent communication with parents about their child’s academic, social and emotional progress and needs

Job Types: Employee: Part-time, minimum 10-12 hours up to 20 hours, includes paid time off and paid training

Pay Rates:

  • $28.00 -$32.00 /hour for Academic Coach for Level 1
  • $33.00- $40.00/hour for Academic Coach Level 2
  • All rates commensurate with experience and education
  • Training rate $20/hour
  • Paid prep time is included (1-2 hours per week depending on caseload)
