Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: The LEAP Mentor, as part of the Teacher Support Team for Beaufort County's own alternative route to teacher certification program, will develop teacher candidates into certified teachers by providing comprehensive guidance and assistance throughout the program and certification process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Support beginning teachers in their journey through alternative certification using the South Carolina Mentoring Model. Engage in the Formative Evaluation Process with beginning teachers based on the ADEPT Performance Standards. Meet weekly with each beginning teacher. Complete all required record keeping prior to deadlines. Work collaboratively with beginning teachers and principals. Participate in all required professional development activities.
