Job Description The School Guidance Counselor is responsible for assisting students in areas of academic achievement, personal or social development, and career and/or college exploration so that each student can identify personal goals, strengths, weaknesses, and interests and grow to become a well-adjusted and productive adult. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to all individuals within the district - students, parents, staff members and community members. The ability to maintain confidentiality is critical in this position. In addition, the School Guidance Counselor must be sensitive to the needs of the district, students, parents and staff.
