Job Description Position Title: Food Service Assistant #9 Location: Howell High School Reports To: Food Service Director and/or Principal/Assistant Principal Status: Ten (10) month position Work Hours: 4.25 hrs/day; 9:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. FLSA Status: Non-exempt SUMMARY: The Food Service Assistant provides support in our student nutrition program by assisting the Kitchen Manager and the Food Service Supervisor in the overall management and organization of the food service program all while providing excellent customer service to staff, students and families. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Main responsibility is to do dishes and keep the dish room clean and sanitized including the dish machine. Empty cardboard/trash rack mid-morning. Take cardboard to the recycle bin and any trash to the compactor. Gather any dirty dishes at the beginning of the shift and after each lunch and take them to the dish room.
