Job Description Lead STEM Teacher2025-2026 School YearINTERNAL APPLICATIONS ONLYMontgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Lead STEM Teacher currently employed by MCPS to assist the Director of Secondary Education and the Administrator of CTE Programs with the development of curriculum for the MCPS STEM programs. This position is located at Blacksburg High School but serves the entire division.
This position is open to current MCPS employees only.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide leadership in the development of the written curriculum for the MCPS STEM program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student
- Plan and facilitate curriculum meetings to create and maintain oversight of the division curriculum for the STEM program
- Work the the Director of Secondary Education and the Administrator of CTE Programs to provide resource support and instructional coordination for all MCPS STEM staff
- Serve as a point of contact for all STEM teachers and act as a liaison between the teachers and the directors
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- A STEM teacher currently employed by MCPS Experience in developing and implementing curriculum
- Experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
- Experience and expertise in using technology in education
- Experience or have working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
- Experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Strong professional, interpersonal, and communication skills for working effectively with school personnel and members of the community
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- K-12 endorsement
- K-12 experience
SALARY: Stipend in the amount of $2,000 annually
