Love kids, laughter, and a little controlled chaos? This is your role! Everwood Day Camp is seeking teachers, paraprofessionals, and college students exploring a career in early childhood education for our Preschool Group Leader role. You'll work with our youngest campers, ages 3-5, in our Turtle Division. Because what else do tiny humans with backpacks look like? As a Preschool Group Leader, you'll navigate a group of up to 15 Pre-K to Kindergarten campers through their day, from instructional swim lessons to special events, nature activities, and sports. Let's be honest-changing out of a wet bathing suit can be tricky, and you'll be there to guide them through it all! You'll work alongside 1-2 counselors, supporting and mentoring them, while receiving guidance and feedback from a Division Leader, often a seasoned teacher. Spend your summer immersed in 70 acres of woods, fields, cabins, and a beautiful lake, inspiring curiosity, confidence, and joy in your campers. This role runs through our 9 week summer program, from June 22nd to August 21st. Paid Staff training on June 2nd, 7th, and 13th is also required. Regular Camp hours are 8:30am-4:15pm, Monday to Friday.
DATES, HOURS, AND PAY
8:30am to 4:00pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day)
June 22nd to Aug 21st (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 14th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed.
Monday to Friday each week except for July 3rd when we are closed.
Salary range is $4387.50 and up for 9 weeks of work.
Paid Staff Training (additional $200 total) Tuesday June 2nd 4:30-9pm, Sunday June 7th 9am-4:30pm, and Saturday June 13th 10:30am-5pm. All training will have meals provided.
Extra income can be made (up to $1320), working as a Bus Counselor or Extended Day staff.
LOCATION
Sharon, Massachusetts - but with free bus transportation from all over MA! (Boston, Brookline, Somerville, Newton, Milton, Needham, Wellesley, Franklin, Walpole, and more!)
Housing is not included.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Everwood Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer camp featuring many physically demanding activities on land and water. Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. To perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis. ESSENTIAL
High-energy, positive, and kid-focused personality
Excellent communication skills with children and adults
Ability to swim comfortably in a lake and/or pool everyday
Experience teaching/assisting Preschool and Kindergarten aged children (ages 3-5)
Must be 21+ years of age
PREFERRED
Summer camp experience (either Day or Overnight Camp)
