Lawrence Family Development Charter School is seeking a School Receptionist to join our team. This person will manage school communications and reception the Lawrence Family Development Charter School at the Lower School, greet parents and visitors, ensure that all sign-ins are completed, track students' attendance, respond to all incoming calls, and set a professional and welcoming tone for our school.

Main Responsibilities:

-Manage the school's reception area
-Greet visitors, students, staff, and parents
-Maintain all sign-in logs and forms required by school policies
-Maintain front desk as a professional area
-Answer telephone
-Log technology Help-Desk requests
-Take and record phone messages for classroom teachers and paraprofessionals
-Work with the School Nurse, the Enrichment Coordinator, the Heads of School, and the Principal to contact parents in emergency situations
-Assist the Administrative Assistant and the Parent Liaison as requested
-Assist with any other task as assigned by Head of School and/or Principal

Clerical Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

-Assist with data entry into student data systems
-File, assist with mailings, and sort mail
-Maintain and update staff phone database
-Make copies for overall distribution to staff, students, and parents
-Maintain an inventory of school supplies and coordinate on supply needs
-Maintain desk copy of all Purchase Orders for shipping verification
-Receive school supplies and verify contents with packing list and Purchase Order
-Assist with the collection of funds with the Parent Liaison and other parties as needed
-Perform daily check and organization of building copiers
-Assist with translation for meetings with parents

Experience/Qualifications:

-Professional, courteous attitude
-Confidentiality in all matters
-Bilingual - excellent communication and writing skills in English and Spanish
-Computer proficiency using Microsoft Word and a database management system
-Excellent organizational skills
-Associate's Degree preferred and/or a minimum 2 years' experience in office environment
-Ability to stay focused in a busy environment

Schedule: Full-Time, School-Year Position. Non-Exempt, 8 Hours Per Day
Reports to: Head of School

The Lawrence Family Development Charter School was founded in 1995 with 178 students enrolled in Kindergarten through third grade. It has grown since then to a Kindergarten-1 through eighth grade institution with an enrollment of 860 students. Admission to the school is based on a yearly lottery to fill 100 K-1 seats that are available every August/September. Vacancies that exist in K-2 to grade 4 when school opens in August/September are also filled through the lottery system. Over 250 children are currently on the waiting list for admission to LFDCS. Our educational program features small class size to enhance learning potential. Kindergarten through eighth grade classrooms have a maximum of 20 students. LFDCS is committed to providing equitable access to programs that are of high quality and developmentally appropriate, while ensuring that a focus on student learning is maintained through frequent and appropriate assessments of the educational program and students.
