POSITION TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Day Support
SUPERVISOR: Facilities Director
SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Day Support role is responsible for supporting the daily functions and needs of the school which may include, but not limited to, all forms of custodial responsibilities, assisting school staff and performing minor facilities repairs or enhancements. The Day Support role will work with the respective school administration ensuring the school is kept clean and well maintained.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Open the school each morning. Tasks include unlocking designated doors, turning on lights, seasonal duties and checking the overall cleanliness, health, safety, and operating conditions of the school sites
Perform routine cleaning duties as assigned
Work overtime as required to provide adequate coverage
Performs assigned minor repairs on buildings and equipment as required
Performs assigned services outside which include, but are not limited to sweeping of sidewalks and curbs, pickup of debris from grounds, play and lunch areas, snow removal, and grounds maintenance as needed.
Maintain cleaning equipment as assigned
Weekly monitoring and reporting of fuel oil levels.
Inventory management as assigned
Recognize and ensuring that all supplies and equipment are safely stored in proper containers and locations
Maintains records and provide accurate reports as required
Assist school administration as required
Maintain relationship with students, teachers, and administrators in pleasant and cooperative manner
Helps with recycling programs at the school.
Ensures 2nd shift custodial crew is kept well informed
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Other duties as required
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work in a team environment
Valid driver's license
Knowledge of cleaning and maintenance supplies
Knowledge of safety practices relating to handling, storage, and use of chemical cleaning products and custodial equipment
Knowledge of custodial and maintenance procedures.
Maintain cooperative and productive working relationships
On call for varies emergencies
Detail orientated
ADA MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS OR STANDARD REQUIRED
Physically able to operate a variety of jobs related machines
Physically able to move or carry job related objects or materials
Draw daily operational conclusions and solve practical problems using technical and administrative policies current in force
Make independent judgment within the scope of related job duties
Utilize mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and determine percentages
Read and comprehend a variety of professional, technical and administrative documentation, directions, methods, and procedures
Interact with people (staff, supervisors, general public, elected officials)

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
Reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
