Job Summary
The Principal of Wauseon High School is a dynamic educational leader responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and student growth. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to collaboration with students, staff, parents, and the community. The Principal will oversee all aspects of school operations, curriculum implementation, and student services while ensuring compliance with district policies and educational standards.

Minimum 10 accrued Vacation Days 1st year - could be more based on years of experience
15 accrued Sick Days/year (maximum 250 days)

Direct supervisor to Assistant Principal, Athletic Administrator, 37 Certified Staff, 15 Classified Staff

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of Wauseon High School, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
- Develop and implement educational programs and curricula that meet the diverse needs of students and align with state and district standards.
- Foster a culture of high expectations for academic achievement and personal growth among students and staff.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support professional development and enhance instructional practices.
- Engage with parents, community members, and stakeholders to build strong partnerships that support student success.
- Monitor student performance data and implement strategies for improvement where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as district policies.
- Manage school budgets and resources effectively, allocating funds to support educational initiatives.
- Oversee student discipline and promote a positive school climate through effective behavior management strategies.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for students, promoting equity and inclusion in all school activities.

Requirements
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
- Valid Ohio Principal License or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of five years of experience in education, with at least three years in a leadership position preferred.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of educators and support staff.
- Commitment to fostering a positive school culture and promoting student engagement and achievement.
- Proficient in the use of technology for administrative tasks and educational purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including students, parents, and community members.
