General Definition of Work

The senior computer systems analyst, under intermittent supervision, performs highly complex work with intermediate decision-making discretion providing specialized system analysis and support to leadership. Position provides technical subject-matter expertise on a variety of projects to better position the district's technical capabilities. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of assigned leader.

Salary NC 20/ Full-time, 12 months

Assistant Technology Officer or Executive Director of Digital Platforms

Place of Work

The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.

Essential Functions
  • Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
  • Provide subject matter expertise on system applications and connect with leadership to finalize solutions that address department and business needs
  • Evaluate comprehensive system elements such as input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution
  • Develop, design, and program system specifications that create sustainable solutions
  • Develop cost/benefit project proposals varying in scope and interact with management to get appropriate approval(s)
  • Provide technical guidance for programming applications, system software, data center operations and user personnel in the planning and scheduling of assigned systems projects
  • Ensure continuing effectiveness of systems through scheduled tests and program modifications to meet user needs
  • Create standard operating procedures and training materials for users
  • Lead system and software training for users
  • Analyze, design, write, test and debug complex and technical computer programs
  • Provide subject matter expertise to teams in assigned area for technical projects, and ensure deliverables are being met
  • Perform related work as assigned or required
