POSITION OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT
School Nurse
General Description: The School Nurse is responsible for implementing and providing comprehensive school health services that support students' emotional, mental, physical, and social well-being. In addition to responding to illness and injury, maintaining health records, and coordinating screenings and referrals, the School Nurse provides leadership in prevention education by delivering and supporting instructional initiatives focused on student health, safety, and wellness. The nurse collaborates with staff, families, partner schools, and community agencies to address individual and school-wide health concerns that may impact student success and serves as a health resource for the MVCTVD community.
Qualifications:
Must hold a current, valid and unrestricted Ohio license to practice as a Registered NurseMust hold a Nursing Baccalaureate DegreeGood knowledge of medical procedures, practices, and equipmentAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingAbility to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiativeAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with othersAbility to understand and follow complex oral and written directions in a school environmentMaintain complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy and administrative guidelinesRequired to maintain confidentiality in working with recordsDemonstrate an attention to detail in assigned tasks, including contact tracing
Length of Contract: 185 days with applicable extended service
Starting Date: 2026-27 school year
