Summary Description:
BB&N is seeking a Director of Academic Technology who will serve as a strategic partner in advancing BB&N's vision for transformative teaching and learning. By leading with curiosity, integrity, and purpose, this role cultivates a culture of digital fluency, pedagogical innovation, and empowered learning for faculty, staff, and students. The Director of Academic Technology helps guide the school's ongoing evolution in educational technology, ensuring that tools, systems, and practices align with BB&N's mission, vision, values, and institutional priorities while also preparing our community for a rapidly changing digital landscape. This position also plays a key role in fostering a culture where educators bring their authentic selves to the work of innovation, care, and transformative learning.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Key functions for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Partnering with teachers and academic leaders to integrate meaningful, student-centered technology into curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Leading and mentoring a team of Academic Technology Specialists (ATS).
- Designing and delivering professional development on tools, pedagogy, and innovation.
- Overseeing the school's technology-related curriculum and makerspaces, including supporting curriculum design, coaching faculty, and championing hands-on, interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Guiding digital wellness, citizenship, and ethical tech use across the community.
- Co-creating future-ready strategies that reflect BB&N's values and instructional priorities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements, Skills, and Competencies:
- An M.Ed. or a relevant degree in education or instructional design.
- Deep knowledge of instructional technology and digital learning.
- Experience coaching educators, designing and facilitating professional development.
- Previous experience in a school setting.
- Regular in-office attendance with standard work hours, typically during the school day, with some additional evening and weekend time required for planning, meetings, and school events.
Salary: $103,000 - $113,000
BB&N offers competitive salaries and benefits, employing equitable and consistent compensation practices. The starting salary for any hired candidate is based on experience within salary bands.
Compensation for eligible full-time and part-time employees includes a 403(b) plan with up to a 10% match of salary and other competitive benefits offerings. Benefits offered to eligible employees include health & dental insurance; commuter benefits; long-term disability insurance, and more.
