Meeting Street is currently looking for a Special Education Teacher (Early Learning Center) for 40 hours per week.

Duties:
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the individual needs of students and consistently contain diverse content throughout the academic year
Plans and implements motivating and creative age-appropriate lessons and activities to address goals as outlined in each students' IEP
Demonstrates concepts and strategies using visual models and representations, talk, and other
Assesses students on a regular basis and maintains data records on each student's progress in order to be used to write/provide accurate progress reports and/or evaluations
Provides opportunities for individual and small group instruction that is purposeful and flexible to meet the needs of students
Co-teaches with general educator and identify opportunities to provide inclusive instruction
Collaborates in the planning, adapting and teaching of the curriculum for each student
Collaborates with therapists to implement an integrated educational/ therapeutic model
Meets all deadlines for IEP development and presentation, as well as progress reports and any additional documents and reports including educational testing including alternate assessments

Job Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education
RIDE Certification in Pre-K to Grade 2 for Early Childhood Special Education in Severe/Profound or the ability to obtain
Must have or obtain Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certificate within 90 days of hire
Lifting is required for this position
Be able to sit, stand, and walk continuously during the workday.
Bend, stoop and squat continuously (67%-100% of the time)
Kneel and reach above shoulder level occasionally (1%-33% of the time)
Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with the assistance of another staff member or adaptive equipment frequently (67%-100% of the time)
