Position DescriptionNew London Local Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated
Elementary Teacher with an initial assignment in
3rd Grade Math. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that supports student growth, builds conceptual understanding, and promotes problem-solving skills.
The teacher will collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional staff to ensure alignment with Ohio Learning Standards and district curriculum while fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan and deliver effective, standards-based math instruction aligned to Ohio's Learning Standards for Grade 3.
- Utilize district curriculum resources (including i-Ready Mathematics) to support Tier 1 instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of all learners.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional decisions and interventions.
- Participate in Teacher-Based Teams (TBTs) to analyze student data and develop targeted instructional strategies.
- Provide Tier 2 supports and interventions as needed to address learning gaps.
- Create a classroom environment that promotes student engagement, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and achievement.
- Collaborate with intervention specialists, instructional coaches, and support staff to meet student needs.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district, state, and federal requirements.
- Participate in professional development focused on mathematics instruction and best practices.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
- Valid Ohio teaching license for Elementary Education (PK5 or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics content and instructional best practices.
- Experience with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies preferred.
- Familiarity with i-Ready or similar math programs is preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
