Job Title: Language & Literacy Specialist

Job Location: Montgomery County ESC

Start Date: August 2026 (26-27 School Year)

Salary: Starting at $52,968.00, commensurate with experience

Full/Part-Time: Full-Time

Days: 200

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and support PreK-12 language and literacy programs across multiple districts, with a focus on multilingual learners and ELL services.
  • Collaborate with educators and administrators to strengthen instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening across all content areas.
  • Provide coaching, modeling, and professional development to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Analyze student data to drive instructional decisions and support MTSS and evidence-based interventions.
  • Coordinate ELL services, including Language Development Plans and administration of the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district requirements, including student records, assessments, and reporting.

What You'll Bring:
  • Valid Ohio teaching license with TESOL certification (required); Structured Literacy Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the science of reading, structured literacy, and language development for multilingual learners.
  • Proven ability to use data to implement effective, evidence-based instructional strategies.
  • Experience providing professional development, coaching, and collaborative support to educators.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to high standards, continuous improvement, and equitable outcomes for all students.
  • Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit employment.
