Big water, big energy, big responsibility. Everwood Day Camp is seeking Head Lifeguards to lead teams that keeps campers safe while making the water one of the best parts of camp. Safety is the priority, but great leadership makes the difference. As Head Lifeguard, you'll supervise lifeguards, manage schedules, and ensure a safe, positive waterfront experience for campers and staff. We are hiring Head Lifeguards at our Lower Camp Lake Waterfront (Pre-K to 3rd Grade), Upper Camp Lake Waterfront (4th to 10th Grade), and Swim Instruction Pools (Pre-K to 3rd Grade). Waterfront staff will also supervise our inflatable adventure course! You will be responsible for supporting a Waterfront Director to manage a team of 15-20 lifeguards or swim instructors. Free Lifeguard Certification is available through the Red Cross for the right candidate! This role runs through our 9 week summer program, from June 22nd to August 21st. Staff training in May and June is also required. Regular Camp hours are 8:30am-4:15pm, Monday to Friday.
DATES, HOURS, AND PAY
8:30am to 4:00pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day)
June 22nd to Aug 21st (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 14th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed.
Monday to Friday each week except for July 3rd when we are closed.
Salary range is $8170 and up for 9 weeks of work.
Free Camper Tuition for up to 2 children of successful applicants (up to a $14,000 value)
Staff Training is Tuesday June 2nd 4:30-9pm, Saturday June 6th 9am-5pm, and Sunday June 7th 9am-4:30pm. All training will have meals provided.
Additional Leadership Team Training in May and June may also be required.
LOCATION
Sharon, Massachusetts - but with free bus transportation from all over MA! (Boston, Brookline, Somerville, Newton, Milton, Needham, Wellesley, Franklin, Walpole, and more!)
Housing is not included.

Everwood Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer camp featuring many physically demanding activities on land and water. Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. To perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis. ESSENTIAL
High-energy, positive, and kid-focused personality
Excellent communication skills with children and adults
Experience teaching swimming fundamentals and techniques through drills and games
Experience working with children
Current lifeguard certification
Must be 21+ years of age
PREFERRED
Summer camp experience (either Day or Overnight Camp)
Experience working on open water (lake or similar)
Experience managing teens and adults
