Position Summary

St. Clair County RESA is seeking an exceptional Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent to serve as a highly trusted partner and senior operational leader within the organization. This position represents the highest level of executive assistance, requiring extraordinary initiative, intellect, discretion, and leadership capacity.

The Executive Administrative Assistant functions as an extension of the Superintendent; managing priorities, coordinating complex operations, supporting agency-wide initiatives, and exercising independent judgment on sensitive matters. This role is critical to ensuring organizational efficiency, alignment, and informed decision-making at the executive level.

Required Competencies & Qualifications

  • Superb organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct individuals
  • High level of financial acumen, including experience managing or supporting budgets
  • Advanced proficiency with:
    • Google Workspace
    • Excel
    • Bitech

  • AI tools for professional and organizational use
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Experience
  • Senior-level executive assistant experience in a RESA, ISD, school district or public-sector educational organization
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a Superintendent or equivalent executive leader
  • Experience working with Boards of Education or similar governing bodies
Key Responsibilities

Executive & Strategic Support
  • Serve as the Superintendent's primary executive support and liaison
  • Anticipate needs, identify emerging issues, and proactively resolve challenges
  • Exercise sound, independent judgment in high-stakes, time-sensitive situations
  • Manage highly sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion

Operational Leadership & Coordination
  • Coordinate and manage agency-wide initiatives and Superintendent-directed priorities
  • Direct, guide, and oversee individuals on behalf of the Superintendent
  • Ensure follow-through, accountability, and alignment across departments

Organizational Management
  • Assist with the organization of executive and leadership meetings, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up
  • Monitor timelines and tasks for strategic and operational projects
  • Support Board-related communications and executive reporting as assigned

Financial & Budgetary Support
  • Assist with the development, monitoring, and management of RESA budgets
  • Support oversight of grants, contracts, and financial processes
  • Utilize Bitech and related financial systems with proficiency

Technology, Systems & AI
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Calendar, Forms)
  • Utilize PowerSchool and other RESA systems accurately and effectively
  • Leverage artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency, organization, and decision-making, proficient with Claude, School AI, and ChatGPT
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend tools and systems that enhance operations

RESA Knowledge & Educational Systems
  • Apply a strong working knowledge of SCCRESA functions, services, and governance
  • Support compliance with applicable state, federal, and local educational requirements
  • Serve as a knowledgeable internal resource regarding RESA operations and procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, lift, and walk as needed to perform all essential job functions.


Compensation & Benefits

Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and reflect the senior-level responsibilities of the position. Anticipated beginning salary $72,000-$74,000. St. Clair County RESA offers a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, mission-driven work environment.
