High School Math Teacher (Full Time) - Anticipated Opening

Job Description: The Public Schools of Brookline seeks a High School Math Teacher. This is a full-time position.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Teach 4 or 5 sections of mathematics

• Demonstrate appropriate long and short term preparation for classroom instruction

• Hold high expectations for all students

• Employ a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each student, individually and in group settings

• Continuously assess student progress, providing students and caregivers with specific feedback. Use the results of assessments to adjust instruction as needed

• Collaborate with colleagues to examine student data, plan curriculum, and ensure appropriate learning experiences for all students

• Establish and maintain a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and builds a sense of community

Required Qualifications:

• DESE Math certification, 9-12

• Bachelor's Degree

• Strong Math content knowledge

• Knowledge about High School pedagogy and the developmental needs of students

• Ability to assess learning using a variety of methods

• A strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy

• Excellent classroom management skills

• SEI endorsement

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
