Job Description Job Description: The Public Schools of Brookline seeks a High School Math Teacher. This is a full-time position.Duties include but are not limited to:- Teach 4 or 5 sections of mathematics
- Demonstrate appropriate long and short term preparation for classroom instruction
- Hold high expectations for all students
- Employ a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each student, individually and in group settings
- Continuously assess student progress, providing students and caregivers with specific feedback. Use the results of assessments to adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues to examine student data, plan curriculum, and ensure appropriate learning experiences for all students
- Establish and maintain a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and builds a sense of community
Required Qualifications:- DESE Math certification, 9-12
- Strong Math content knowledge
- Knowledge about High School pedagogy and the developmental needs of students
- Ability to assess learning using a variety of methods
- A strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy
- Excellent classroom management skills
