Job Description
Worcester Cultural Academy Public Charter School is seeking an experienced and passionate Multilingual Learner Teacher to join our team in Worcester, MA. This is a full-time position serving a substantial and linguistically diverse MLL population across grades K-7 in both inclusion and pull-out settings. We are looking for a candidate who brings deep expertise in language acquisition, genuine cultural competence, and the ability to be a strong advocate and resource for our multilingual students and their families. We welcome candidates who reflect the cultural diversity of our community.
Who We Are
WCA is a growing charter public school that opened in August 2023 with a vision of becoming a K-8 community. We launched with kindergarten and have added a grade every year since - this fall we welcome our first 7th graders. As an EL (Expeditionary Learning) Education school, we believe in hands-on learning that challenges students to grow in three dimensions: mastery of knowledge and skills, character, and high-quality work. We partner with organizations like the EcoTarium, Worcester Art Museum, and Hanover Theater and anchor our curriculum in Learning Expeditions that make learning meaningful and real. Our multilingual learners bring extraordinary assets to our school community - and our MLL Teacher plays a central role in ensuring they have full access to everything we offer.
We want to be honest with prospective candidates: this is energizing, demanding work. Our MLL population is large, linguistically diverse, and deserving of a teacher who brings both expertise and heart to this role every single day. If that excites you, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
Direct Student Instruction and Support
Provide high-quality English language development instruction to identified MLL students across grades K-7 in both pull-out and inclusion settings

Participate in grade-level team meetings, contributing MLL expertise to school-wide conversations about student support
Family and Community Engagement
Build authentic, trusting relationships with families across the school's full range of linguistic and cultural communities
Communicate proactively with families about their child's language development and academic progress, using interpretation and translation support as needed
Serve as a bridge between multilingual families and the broader school community, ensuring every family feels welcomed, informed, and valued
Advocate for multilingual learners and their families within the school and with outside partners and agencies as needed
Compliance and Advocacy
