Meeting Street is currently looking for a Preschool Teacher for 40 hours per week.

Duties:
Provides a classroom that is safe, welcoming and reflects the student's family, culture and community.
Facilitates interactions among children to provide opportunities for emotional, social and developmental growth.
Creates and implements a curriculum that promotes diversity and active learning by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate learning experiences, making appropriate accommodations and modifications as necessary using RI Early Learning Development Standards as guidance.
Assigns, monitors, addresses and evaluates teacher assistants, volunteers, Interns and student's duties and responsibilities and assists in their development as early childhood professionals.
Monitors the developmental progress of each child through observation and data collection using Teaching Strategies Gold or other data collecting software as necessary. Uses such data to inform and develop curriculum.
Actively participates in and supports efforts to maintain NAEYC accreditation, Brightstars quality rating, RI Department of Human Services (DHS) and RI Department of Education licensing regulations.
Always Maintains supervision of children (indoor/outdoor) using licensing ratios and headcounts every 15 minutes.

Requirements
Must have an Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field with experience and 24 early childhood course credits.
2+ years' experience caring for children under age 5 preferred.
RIELDS Foundations 9 Domains & Guiding Principles and both RIELDS Preschool Classrooms: Instructional Cycle & Curriculum and Planning; or willingness to obtain certifications within the first year of employment.
ECERS training or willingness to complete the courses within the first nine (9) months of employment.
Valid CPR and First Aid training/certification.
Inclusive childcare setting.
Diaper, toilet and assist children with feeding and dressing.
Sit, stand, and walk continuously during the workday.
Bend, stoop and squat continuously.
Kneel and reach above shoulder level occasionally.
Lift, transfer, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds independently or up to 100 pounds with the assistance of another staff member or adaptive equipment frequently.
Hours for the position: Monday - Friday; 9:00AM - 5:00PM
