Until FilledPOSITION: Career Technical Instructor - Biomedical Science/Project Lead the WayREPORTS TO: Campus Director/Assistant Director or Designee
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time, 185 Days, Master Agreement, FLSA Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS: - Valid Licensure by the Ohio Department of Education in one of the following areas:
o 132010 Integrated Science
o 132030 Life Science
o 074850 Biotechnology
o 070302 Practical Nurse - Must attend summer training through Project Lead the Way (minimum of two weeks)
- Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check after job offer is made.
- Maintains compliance with Board policies and other applicable procedures/guidelines
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Designs meaningful and sequential instruction with relevant learning activities to meet career technical program goals
- Plans and implements lessons based on related curriculum, centered on the needs and abilities of students
- Provides instruction to students and prepares them to earn appropriate college credits and/or an industry-recognized credential before high school graduation
- Utilizes student data to inform and design classroom instruction
- Promotes the program and recruits students through a variety of activities
- Works with program advisory committee to advance program innovations, evaluate the significance of emerging technology, create opportunities for students, and ensure program standards and activities are relevant to the needs of business and industry
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Develop, coordinate, and support work-based learning opportunities, including internships, job shadowing, and industry partnerships, by collaborating with biomedical partners and facilitating student participation to enhance career readiness and practical skill development
OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:- Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:- Occasional: Exposure to severe weather, traffic, blood, bodily fluids and tissue, light lifting (up to 50 pounds), travel to remote sites, attend functions and perform duties outside normal working hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Periodic: Exposure to loud noise, irritating and hazardous chemicals, fumes, and unruly children and adults.
- Frequent: Prolonged periods of standing and lifting (10-20 pounds) of supplies and materials. Bending, stooping and reaching for items. Follow all Board safety rules and procedures. Participate in the school safety training when requested.
Reports to: Assistant Director of Secondary Education
Starting date: 2026-27 School Year
Salary and Benefits: Based upon Board Policy and Master Agreement. Appropriate placement on the Certified Staff Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience in the various sectors of the business field. One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.
