Lovell Academy is seeking a Humanities Teacher to join its faculty. This educator will support student learning across core humanities subjects.
This position focuses on teaching Humanities courses such as history, literature, writing, and social studies to student-athletes. The ideal candidate is a reliable, collaborative educator who is interested in working with adolescents and contributing to a positive classroom environment.
Lovell Academy, located in Rockland, MA, is a boarding school serving 132 elite hockey student-athletes in grades 8-PG. The school integrates academics and athletics to support each student's development. Faculty are expected to create structured, engaging classrooms that support reading, writing, discussion, and critical thinking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach assigned Humanities courses (history, literature, writing, social studies)
Support student learning through clear instruction and structured lessons
Plan and deliver lessons aligned with course objectives and assessments
Develop students' reading, writing, and analytical skills
Communicate with parents about student progress
Participate in professional development
Work collaboratively with colleagues
Be available to students during contract hours

Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
Handle confidential information appropriately
Respect the role of athletics in students' schedules
Demonstrate basic content knowledge in Humanities subjects
Use a variety of teaching strategies to support learning
Participate in school activities as needed
Use school technology and learning systems
Qualifications or Comparable Experience:
Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred; degree in Humanities or related field preferred
Teaching experience preferred but not required (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Willingness to collaborate and learn
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional additional responsibilities for school events and boarding supervision.
