Position Overview:- We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 7th-grade English Language Arts teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students in a positive learning environment, fostering a love for ELA and critical thinking skills. This role involves creating lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with fellow educators to enhance our curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:Instruction and Planning- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the developmental needs of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes respect and cooperation.
- Assess and monitor student progress regularly, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to promote student success and well-being.
- Implement classroom management strategies to support a productive learning atmosphere.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
- Foster a love of learning through creative teaching techniques and hands-on activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student attendance, progress, and assessment data records.
Student-Centered Environment- Cultivate a safe, nurturing atmosphere conducive to learning for all students.
- Promote social-emotional development and positive behavior interventions.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support diverse learners.
Family and Community Engagement - Build strong relationships with families and engage them in their child's education.
- Communicate effectively with families, keeping them informed and involved in school activities.
- Partner with local organizations and community resources to support student and family needs.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or credential for the appropriate grade level/subject area.
- Experience in a classroom setting, preferably in a middle/high school environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Passion for education, committed to developing student potential and encouraging lifelong learning.
Preferred Skills:- Knowledge of educational technology and the ability to integrate it into the classroom.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques to support diverse students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students and staff for extended periods.
- Capacity to respond to emergencies and manage student behavior in various situations.
Additional Information:- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
