Wauseon Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a full-time 6th Grade Social Studies/Science teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the world around them through engaging lessons in social studies and science. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards for 6th grade social studies and science.
- Create a dynamic and interactive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and class participation.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate cross-curricular themes and enhance the overall educational experience.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive and inclusive school community.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning and adapt to diverse student needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum changes.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and events that promote student achievement and community involvement.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, Science, or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or certification for middle school education in the state of Ohio.
- Strong knowledge of 6th grade social studies and science curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster positive relationships.
- Experience working with middle school students preferred.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes and classroom management.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
- Passion for teaching and a desire to inspire students to become lifelong learners.
