Come and Join our outstanding team of teachers! St. Luke's School seeks a part-time (Tuesday and Thursday/ two days per week) Music teacher beginning the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will exhibit a love for music incorporated into their instructional practices, exemplify a commitment to Catholic education, and illustrate enthusiasm and a willingness to work as part of the Specials team. The position is hired by the principal in conjunction with the pastor and reports to the principal.
Job Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a current teaching certificate or have experience teaching music to K-8 student
Bachelor's degree
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION:
Have the ability to instruct students in the area of music, grades K-8
Support and uphold the school's mission and teachings of the Catholic Church in word and action
Plan for instruction that is engaging and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners in the classroom
Work with the Liturgical Director to teach the grade 3 choir for Masses.
Work together with the teachers to prepare for the annual Christmas Concert, K-8
Use effective instructional methods and best practices for the grade level
Incorporate technology into lesson planning as appropriate for the children's developmental levels
Practicing positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom
Upholding consistent, positive and open communication with parents about their child's progress in school
Maintaining current and accurate records according to school policy
Working effectively with all members of our school community as part of a collaborative environment
Performing other responsibilities as designated by the principal or pastor of the school
